Quintessential Brands, the award-winning name behind premium spirits like Opihr and Bloom gin and Dubliner Whiskey, are looking for a Group Category Manager – Indirects, reporting to the Group Procurement Director to drive end to end sourcing plans & strategy for categories covering Warehousing & Distribution/ Logistics, MRO, Engineering & Equipment, Soft & Hard FM, Utilities, HR, Marketing, IT & Telecoms and Professional Services.
Sitting within our Group Procurement team you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting stakeholders, understanding their needs and creating strategies that deliver YOY benefits and contractual compliance & performance rigour. Conducting end to end sourcing events you will lead, and support stakeholders in driving faultless execution and become a true Procurement partner across the QB Group.

With a variety of categories and sub-categories under your remit, the spend in multi £m’s, across the groups 4 sites, located in UK, ROI & France and our supply base considerable, you’ll relish the challenge this brings. The opportunity to make a positive impact is huge, but so is the complexity you will face into, we have an Indirect supply base > 1000 suppliers. Our business is dynamic and forever changing so we need a strong, adept and significantly experienced individual who thrives on pace, can bring best practice tools & methodology and expertise to take us to the next level.
We operate in fast, branded and retailer own label world where product life cycles can be short, seasonality plays its part, where NPD is in our DNA and where the demands from our customers are relentless and our ambitions, limitless. This is by no means a business as usual role, and requires a seasoned professional, a strong individual with a combination of strategic & operational skills and who can juggle multiple priorities and remain focussed when balancing conflicting demands.
You’ll be heavily involved in supplier development, challenging the status quo and embed new ways of working.
Key skills and experience
Extensive Indirect Category Management experience, ideally within an FMCG business or Automotive/ Aerospace industry other fast paced, complex multi-site business min 3yrs at Category Manager level
Delivered YOY tangible benefits across multiple categories and robust outcomes for stakeholders.
You will bring best practice and methodology to our business, creating standard ways of working across the group.
Deliver lowest total cost of ownership to the Business through tendering, rigorous negotiation, cost reduction and process improvement activities
Demonstrate on-going evaluation of alternative strategies and supply sources
Identify relevant courses of action to manage the risks within each category
Continuous improvement is in your DNA
Ideally you will have operated across multiple sites and understand the challenges that this poses to embed ways working
Demonstrable analytical skills, able to create category information & insights and influence stakeholders
Excellent communication, negotiation and networking skills with the ability to connect with all stakeholders & suppliers at all levels
Strong commercial & contract management focus with experience of working in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment with contractual rigour & SLA’s / KPI’s to deliver performance
Is Process & Procedure orientated with solid analytical / problem solving skills
Strong attention to detail, anticipates issues actions & resolves independently
Is able and demonstrates the ability to manage multiple projects & workloads, is task focussed and completes work to tight deadlines
